Buddy Walk 2009 - It appears the weather is going to co-operate again this year, we are still set to walk Saturday 10/10 - see ya'll there.

The annual Buddy Walk is an event sponsored by the National Down Syndrome Society to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness month in October. Each fall, Down syndrome groups throughout the country host a local Buddy Walk to celebrate Down syndrome in their community and fundraise. It's a wonderful family-friendly event and a great way to meet and mingle with new friends and celebrate those with Down syndrome
The Buddy Walk in Northwest Louisiana is our group's primary annual fundraiser. This years walk will be held at the same great location. We will be located in front of the pool building beside the radio station tower, on Saturday October 10th. Whether you register in advance or on the day of the walk registration starts at 8:30am. The one mile walk around the campus will begin at 10:15am. After the walk join us for lunch, fun for the kids, and relax to great live entertainment.

If you are not creating a fundraising page click on register for an event link and select the 2009 Buddy Walk. No paper registration forms were distributed this year so please take the time to register on line.

Please complete the registration form and mail it to the address listed by 9/18/09 - PRE-REGISTRATION BY MAIL OR ONLINE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GUARANTEE YOU SHIRT SIZE WILL BE AVAILABLE. ON THE DAY OF THE WALK, SHIRTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.

This year Up With Downs is proud to sponsor our 7th annual Buddy Walk, we did not pursue outside sponsorship this year. Please email me if you have problems registering online, especially if you have a large group and require a large shirt order, this way I will be able to ensure everyone in your group receives their shirt.
